After losing yet another friend to an overdose in fall 2018, I decided to use my experience living with substance use disorder to educate others and inform policy decisions. I’ve found that when we strip away the stigma related to drug use, most of us come around to support those policies which will keep our friends and neighbors alive.
Here is my first appearance on radio, this time with VPR. If I sound nervous, it’s only because I was. My second go around was specifically about policy and where we are coming up short as a state. Want to see my face at the same time you’re listening to my voice? Look no further than Al-Jazeera’s The Stream – we discuss fentanyl. I’ve used my experience to push for the decriminalization of buprenorphine, which you can learn about in my interview with VTDigger.
